About the Company:

We are seeking a talented Planning Manager to join our clients team and spearhead the strategic planning efforts for BESS projects. The Planning Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating project development activities, analyzing market trends, and ensuring the successful execution of BESS initiatives.


About the Role:


Develop and execute strategic plans for the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems, in alignment with company objectives and market dynamics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential BESS project opportunities, conduct feasibility assessments, and evaluate site suitability. Lead the preparation of comprehensive project proposals, including technical specifications, financial models, and regulatory considerations, to secure necessary approvals and funding. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and opportunities for growth in the BESS sector. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Liaise with regulatory agencies, utility companies, and other stakeholders to navigate permitting processes, address regulatory requirements, and obtain necessary approvals for project development. Monitor project progress against established KPIs, milestones, and budget targets, and provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders. Identify potential risks and challenges associated with BESS projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively. Stay informed about industry developments, technological advancements, and policy changes related to battery storage and renewable energy, and incorporate relevant insights into planning efforts. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the planning team and across the organization.


Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning, project management, or related roles preferably in renewable energy.


Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and leverage data to inform decision-making and drive results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus and influence key stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and market dynamics related to renewable energy and battery storage.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, from conception to execution, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
