Our fast-growing business has developed through unique product developments and high consumer demand. As a result, we are recruiting for a full-time Marketing Manager to join our Midlands-based team, to lead the organisation and activation of marketing whether in-house or outsourced.


About The Candidate

We are looking for an individual with an interest in sportswear and motorcycling. An individual who can multi-task across various channels, work independently, as well as work as part of a broader team both in-house and outsourced.


The successful candidate will be an expert in marketing and communication with a good knowledge of the market/competitive landscape internationally.


Working for a customer-centric brand such as Merlin the candidate will require the following characteristics and skill sets:

  • Good communicator – both internally and externally. 
  • Proven track record in marketing communications
  • Have an exciting opportunity to influence and drive brand growth
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, SEO, CMS, web analytics, social networks and emerging channels
  • Knowledge and experience of managing campaigns from brief, to creative signoff, delivery and tracking. Across print and digital channels 
  • Educated to Degree level, ideally in Marketing / business undergraduate qualification, or otherwise a degree plus CIM marketing qualification
  • Ideally 4+ years marketing experience
  • Preference for a passion in motorcycling


Key Responsibilities                    

The Marketing Manager will work to create exciting marketing campaigns that run through brick-and-mortar stores as well as B2C and DTC channels. From conception through to KPI review, across Merlin’s various marketing platforms and using a number of marketing tools to deliver the brand message: print, digital, events, content, web, consumer and trade marketing. This will be managed with both in-house tools and our outsourced marketing agency.


Examples of channels and responsibilities include:


E-Commerce 

  • Maintain the Merlin website using experience of CMS, SEO, Analytics
  • Create and optimise web pages in line with other marketing activity and user activity ensuring an accurate reflection of the brand and product within the market
  • Control brand assets for online partners


Print and Design

  • Work across multiple product projects ranging from collabs, capsule collections and new ranges to create supporting on product merchandising, catalogues and look books, POS/POP


Brand Management/ PR

  • Create and activate with support a monthly social media marketing schedule; as well as explore new, relevant platforms
  • Design and content unique digital advertising campaigns across a broad range of media (i.e. Mobile, Email, Banner)
  • Continue to develop our growing PR presence with our out-sourced partners
  • Work closely with the product team to identify relevant projects or products that drive engagement with content creators


Further:

  • Monitor the macro and micro environments, feeding insights to the broader brand team and business, to consider potential improvements or changes in marketing strategy, products or services
  • Track the performance of all marketing campaigns against both channel budgets and KPI's
  • Assist in the organisation of company-wide marketing events
  • Manage and attend trade shows and industry events: UK and Overseas.
  • Operate effectively and closely with key functional teams across Sales, Finance, Legal, Brand, Product
  • The Marketing Manager will effectively work in a wide range of channels to increase customer and consumer engagement in the Merlin products, to match growth plans internationally. 

 

Requirements                           


  • Proven growth records of 4+ years of experience in a marketing and communications role
  • Educated to Degree level, ideally in Marketing / business undergraduate qualification, or otherwise a degree plus CIM marketing qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience of motorcycle/performance/sportswear sectors
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google marketing platforms and social networks
