Part-Time Aesthetic Therapist

As the Aesthetic Practitioner you will be a crucial memberof our clinic team; offering medical aesthetic treatments to clients either referred via our Consultant Dermatologists or booked direct. You will need to beable to provide a variety of aesthetic services ranging from microneedling through to chemical peels / laser treatments as well as any new treatments we bring into the business following training. You will be expected to work with patients and help in the creation of personalised skin care regimes.
Another aspect of the role may include assisting the clinicians in their treatments ensuring that patients are seen safely and swiftly receiving the most appropriate treatment and at all times delivering an efficient effective and professional firstclass patient experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Responsibilities
- Consult with patients on the treatments available and signpost to other treatments as required
- Develop robust treatment plans with your clients that meet their care needs including advising on suitable products from our product range upselling treatment packages and products
- Carry out IPL laser hair removal and facial aesthetic treatments such as skin peels and microneedling
- Assist Doctors and Nurses at their treatments (Botox dermal filler skin surgery silhouette soft thread lifts micro sclerotherapy)
- Exercise extreme caution with any treatments and to always work within the limits of your ability and training and to ask for further training when you feel it is needed
- Develop a full understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques as required for each treatment
- Help keep the Clinic and treatment rooms clean tidy and well stocked as well as helping with general stock monitoring
- Supporting patients with aftercare information and instructions as per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Patient Journey
- Meet and greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure patient satisfaction at all times
- Assist in creating a supportive and caring environment
- Ensure each patient is adequately consented for procedures
- Promoting high standards of clinical care to all of our patients across the board
- Ensure the patient journey is frictionless and of the highest standard
Health and Safety
- Dispose of clinical waste in line with Health and Safety guidelines
- Prepare specific equipment required within the Department prior to clinical procedures
- Responsible for clinical incident reporting as per Company policies
- Undertake mandatory and statutory training as required by TDP
Infection Prevention and Control
- Ensure that you are familiar with and adhere to the TDP Infection Prevention and Control Policy and Procedures
- Ensure that your work methods are compliant with TDP agreed policies and procedures.
- Ensure that your work does not endanger yourself or others
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of infection prevention and control policies practices and procedures through attendance at annual mandatory updates and ongoing continuing professional development
- Challenge poor infection prevention and control practices of others and report any breaches using appropriate Trust mechanisms (e.g. incident reporting policy)
Confidential Matters
- Ensure that you are familiar with and adhere to TDP policy and procedures on Information Governance. This includes disclosure of information records management and management of confidential information
- Always maintain patient confidentiality
- Assemble nursing documentation including all stationery requirements for clinical sessions
- Check clinic lists reporting any discrepancies to the appointed person in charge
- Ensure accurate record keeping as per Clinic Processes including recording of batch numbers and useby dates
- Answer telephone calls courteously relay messages accurately and promptly and answer general enquiries by visitors
- Verbal handover of patient information to the Lead Nurse
Professional Standards and Performance Review
- Participate in statutory and mandatory training as appropriate for the post
- Maintain consistently high personal and professional standards and act in accordance with the relevant professional code of conduct
- Take responsibility for the maintenance and improvement of personal and professional competence and to encourage that of colleagues and subordinates
- Participate in appraisal processes including identifying performance standards for the post personal objective setting and the creation of a personal development plan in line with outline for the post
- Ensure that you are familiar with and adhere to Safeguarding procedures and guidelines and undertake any additional training in relation to safeguarding relevant to your role
- Ensure that you are familiar with the TDP Equality and Diversity policies. This includes respecting the privacy dignity needs and beliefs of patients carers and colleagues and behaving in a manner which is welcoming to and of the individual is nonjudgmental and respects their circumstances feelings priorities and rights

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Academic/Vocational Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4 or above in Beauty Therapy or equivalent (essential)
- Experience with Lasers NVQ level 4 preferred or a desire to learn the skills for laser hair removal
- Laser core of knowledge certified
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in the beauty and aesthetic industry relevant to the role
- Experience with lasers for hair removal
- Strong Sales background
- Front line customer service experience
- Knowledge of patient database systems
- Competent with Microsoft Office software
- Understanding of clinical and pricing documentation
Skills and Qualities
