As a Transport Planner you will provide a plan that deploys the allocated resource pool in the most effective way and ensure the plan meets all legal obligations in respect of WTD and EU Drivers Legislation.Salary: Up to 33000 per annum Working Hours: 4 on 4 off nights. 38.5 hours per weekKey Duties of a Transort Planner: Escalation of late runners to customer servicesInput trailer numbers fleet numbers and drivers names as soon as practical to do so allocated against workInput of Arrival & departure times in Truckcom System against deliveriesMonitor Time lapse and Restricted parking reports by specified time focusing on unproductive time and excessive breaks/waiting timesCheck resource availability for the shifts ahead vs workloadsConfirm driver start times for next day before 16:00 hoursMonitor and report WTD issues / concerns to Operations teamMonitor terminal lifting and restitution timesEnsure VBS bookings are made before vehicles arrive at PortsEnsuring there is ongoing verbal communication with the driving team to supplement the use of TruckcomEnsuring there is clear daily communication between day and night shifts utilising the night shift handover documentsManaging drivers hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demand and start and finish timesUnderstanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilisation loaded empty legs and profitabilityUnderstanding and putting into practice communication from Team Supervisors (via conference calls) particularly:Managing traffic flowsTrailer type utilisationMonitoring TLC customersRegularly assisting when required at drivers / debrief counter including external drivers calling in via phoneAllocation of containers to customer loadsReviewing allocated customers in assigned RP ensuring work is planned to time and correct equipmentCommunicate with ESL Customer Services and Drivers ensuring customer KPI targets are metComplete and report Benefits and Concerns on a weekly basisDaily sign off own and agency hours for the previous dayManagement of driver hours vs Working Time Directive and complianceQualifications : Working knowledge in Truckcom GTS applications.Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and OutlookWorking knowledge of WTD and EU Drivers HoursExperience in a transport planning environment.Additional Information : As part of our drive to make Stobart a great place to work.
