Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Project Worker at our Mental Health Service, Hope Lodge, Southend On Sea.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Providing support to encourage our customers with mental health needs to maximise their own potential and independence
  • Supporting progress towards independence in managing positive mental health while sustaining a tenancy
  • Offering one-to-one support as required mainly around tenancy management, rents and repairs
  • Promoting safety by undertaking risk assessments
  • Maintain health and safety across the scheme, managing day to day tasks and raising or chasing maintenance issues
  • Developing professional relationships with customers, using appropriate and clear communication to ensure their personal choice, privacy and dignity is maintained
  • Delivery of house meetings with the residents of the scheme
  • Building and maintaining the relationship with the support provider and external organisations as required

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working with adults with mental health needs
  • You may have lived experience of using mental health services and will have the knowledge and understanding to relate and empathise with people with mental health issues
  • Experience working within housing or an understanding of this
  • Knowledge of the welfare benefits system
  • Supporting people in crisis
  • Ability to work effectively in highly pressured situations
  • Experience developing and maintaining accurate records and completing risk assessments
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications
