Tradewind Recruitment is actively seeking an Experienced School Receptionist for a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly, organised, and professional individual to join the front office team and become the welcoming face of the school. The role is to start immediately, so we are looking for candidates who can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Front Desk Reception: Serving as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, greeting everyone in a warm and professional manner and ensuring all enquiries are dealt with efficiently.
  • Telephone and Email Enquiries: Managing incoming calls and emails, directing them to the appropriate staff members, and responding to general enquiries with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Visitor Management: Coordinating the signing-in process for visitors, ensuring that safeguarding procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Pupil Attendance: Supporting the monitoring of pupil attendance, inputting data into the school's system, and assisting with absence tracking.
  • Administrative Support: Providing general administrative assistance, including managing incoming post, filing, photocopying, and supporting the school's office team with day-to-day tasks.
  • SIMS Data Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using SIMS (School Information Management System), ensuring that pupil information is managed efficiently.
  • General Office Duties: Contributing to the smooth running of the school office by handling a variety of administrative tasks and supporting staff where needed.
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous Receptionist Experience: Prior experience as a receptionist, ideally within a school setting, is essential.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in person and on the phone, with staff, students, parents, and external visitors.
  • Proficiency with SIMS: Familiarity with SIMS is highly desirable. You will be expected to manage data entry and attendance records using this system.
  • Organisational Skills: The ability to multitask, stay organised, and manage a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
  • Professionalism and Confidentiality: A high level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information, along with a strong commitment to safeguarding and school policies.
