Job Overview:


Our client is a well known National MEP Subcontractor, part of a larger Main Contracting business. They are delivering a £130 million MEP project in the Reading area. 4 years on site. As such, they are looking to source a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to co co-ordinate all Electrical engineering functions and achieve a successful outcome technically, commercially to the clients’ requirements on the project.


Please note, due the location and sensitive nature of this project, it is a requirement that successful applicants hold UK Citizenship and a valid UK passport with full work rights for here in the UK, coupled with being eligible to obtain SC level Security Clearance.


Role:


  • Support the senior project team in the overall implementation of the engineering strategy and framework for the designated project
  • Engage with the Subcontractors at all stages from ITT to Final commissioning and Handover.
  • Ensure that Subcontract packages are delivered to programme, budget, safety and quality expectations/standards.
  • Ensure packages comply with good design practice and relevant technical group standards.
  • Ensure accurate and complete records are kept in accordance with the M&E control sheet, this should include; RFIs, CE’s, EWN’s, WPPs, ITPs, Record Drawings and other project communications/deliverables.
  • The engineer will ensure that communication trackers are updated, regardless of platform self-generated registers.
  • Ensure the relevant RIBA 4/5 design deliverables are reviewed, accurate and fit for purpose prior to works commence.


Qualifications / Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree, HNC or ONC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • A suitable master’s degree may be advantageous.
  • Previous project engineering experience is recommended.
  • Several years of experience working in the engineering field.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • The ability to motivate staff.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work overtime if required.
