They are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their central HR team, working within a shared service model to provide high-quality people support across the organisation.This part-time, permanent role focuses on coaching and equipping managers with strong people-management skills, while managing a personal caseload of complex employee relations matters. The position offers hybrid working, with flexibility around working patterns (between 4 and 5 days per week), provided this includes a Friday.ResponsibilitiesManage a personal caseload of complex HR issues, including sickness absence, performance management and grievances.Provide clear, risk-based advice and guidance to managers, ensuring fair, pragmatic and legally compliant outcomes.Coach and upskill managers to build confidence in handling people issues and making sound people-related decisions.Develop and deliver coaching or training interventions to improve people management capability across the organisation.Build effective working relationships with managers and colleagues, promoting simplicity, fairness, innovation and continuous learning.Analyse and assess situations accurately using strong investigative and analytical skills.Communicate openly and collaboratively with stakeholders, enabling confident and timely decision-making.Use HR systems and Microsoft applications effectively to manage data, records and casework.RequirementsExperience managing a personal caseload of complex HR issues, including sickness, performance and grievance cases.Proven ability to coach managers and influence them towards pragmatic, risk-based solutions.Strong relationship-building skills, with a collaborative approach and a focus on fairness and learning.Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess situations accurately and recommend appropriate actions.Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at different levels.Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems (e.g. Oracle HR, Midland iTrent or similar).BenefitsDefined benefit pension scheme with substantial employer contribution.Generous holiday entitlement.Corporate discounts and access to partner offers.Free or discounted entry to heritage and cultural sites (role-specific).Professional development opportunities and support to achieve career goals.Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working, job sharing, part-time and compressed hours (subject to agreement).Inclusive, supportive culture with a strong commitment to wellbeing, diversity and equality.Application ProcessApplications will be assessed against the listed criteria.Our client uses a question-based application process (rather than traditional CV-only applications) to reduce bias and improve diversity.Provisional interview date: 15 December, in person in Swindon.Candidates are encouraged to request any reasonable adjustments needed to fully participate in the recruitment process.
