Facility Maintenance Lead – Bradford

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and flexible individual to join the Facility Maintenance Team as a Maintenance Lead for the Bradford site. We are looking for leadership qualities in an electrical qualified competent person with accompanying HVAC and mechanical skills for maintaining the facility and supporting the effective smooth running of the Manufacturing Process.


The Role

  • Key dependable individual able to lead and coordinate the team and delegate responsibilities.
  • Be an excellent communicator to engage with all stakeholders at different levels.
  • Able to prioritise tasks and have effective time management.
  • Develop planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to ensure facility is maintained in an efficient state.
  • Coordinate maintenance to ventilation, heating, mechanical and electrical systems and repairs to property, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
  • Respond to production breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • To have proactive involvement in new installations and alterations to plant.
  • Utilise BMS and Lighting control systems for energy management.
  • Assist HS&E department with providing evidence for accreditation schemes.
  • Manage insurance inspections and site written scheme requirements.
  • Be involved in site risk management and contribute to business continuity planning.
  • Have a general understanding of accounting practices, raising purchases orders, using cost centres and approving invoices.
  • Be competent in procurement practices, tendering service contracts for maintenance to ensure regulatory compliance and best practise.
  • Have excellent contractor management skills, request, read and understand risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), conduct site inducts, issue work permits and observe work activities.
  • On call rota for technical support with potential need to attend site in an emergency.

  • Eagerness to learn and advance skills and knowledge by attending training to attain relevant qualifications when required.
  • Willingness to learn machine operations and assist with repairs.
  • Willingness to learn Facilities Management and gain a professional qualification and affiliation to the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM).
  • Flexibility with work hours to rectify breakdowns as priorities and demands dictate.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment desired but not essential.
  • Competence with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Knowledge of legislation related to H&S, Environment and Building Regulations.
  • Mechanical experience would be advantageous with knowledge of machinery.
  • HVAC experience in Plumbing / Ventilation / Heating Systems.
  • Experience in using BMS and lighting control systems.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Experience of using MS Excel and SAP.


Qualifications

  • City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ Electrical qualifications essential.
  • 18th Edition essential.
  • IPAF 3a & 3b desirable or willing to obtain.
  • Asbestos awareness desirable or willingness to obtain.
  • Legionella L8 certificate or willingness to obtain.
