Job Description

Job Title: Shift Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement repairs or replacements as needed
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify and resolve equipment-related issues
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety protocols

Requirements:

  • Time-served to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • HNC (or equivalent) or higher in Engineering discipline an advantage
  • Post-apprenticeship experience in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment (plastic packaging environment an advantage)
  • Proven practitioner of preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
