As a Formulation Chemist you will work closely with the Chemist Lead and oversee daily production activities, ensuring that quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements are consistently met. Working as a Formulation Chemist you will contribute to product improvements, optimise formulations, and support innovation while guiding a small manufacturing team within a hands-on environment. DUTIES Your duties as the Formulation Chemist include: Optimise Product Formulations:Develop and refine formulations for home and garden care products Improve Existing Formulations:Enhance product stability, performance, and cost efficiency Maintain Technical Documentation : Manage formulation files, MSDS documents, and product specifications Oversee Quality Control:Monitor batch quality and maintain accurate traceability records Ensure Safe Chemical Handling:Oversee storage and usage of chemicals in line with HSE and COSHH guidance Support Manufacturing Team:Assist in ensuring smooth daily production operations and addressing issues proactively Troubleshoot Production Issues:Resolve challenges around blending, bottling, and raw materials, implementing continuous improvements Source Raw Materials:Assist in identifying quality raw materials and managing supplier relationships Contribute to Product Development:Support the roadmap for future innovation and scalable growth CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline Proven experience of formulation chemistry, ideally within homecare or consumer products Experience with HSE, COSHH, and quality standards in a production environment Highly organised with excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ambitious, collaborative, and motivated to grow with a scaling organisation Previous experience in developing home and garden products is highly desirable HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
