We are dedicated to translating scientific breakthroughs into commercially viable, sustainable solutions that address global challenges.About the Role:We are seeking a Junior Production Chemist with a completed postgraduate degree (MSc, MEng, or PhD) and strong hands-on laboratory skills. This role is ideal for candidates excited about bridging R&D with scale-up and production, and contributing to both internal process development and client-facing quality assurance.You will support the formulation, optimisation, and scale-up of our proprietary metal colloids, ensuring robust quality control and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with senior scientists, operations, and business development teams to support production readiness, customer requirements, and external documentation. This includes preparation of technical files, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS), aligned with ISO 9001 practices and international regulatory standards.The role will begin as a part-time position (4 days per week) with the potential to transition into a full-time role following a successful probationary period. Exceptional performance may lead to early involvement in client projects, R&D innovation, and accelerated career progression. ResponsibilitiesLead in the synthesis, formulation, and characterisation of metal colloids using our plant based patented process.Support and optimise batch production workflows, contributing to pilot and large-scale manufacturing.Maintain precise documentation of batch records, materials, and lab results aligned with ISO 9001 quality management standards.Conduct quality control testing and generate supporting documentation including Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS).Assist in maintaining quality assurance systems and contribute to internal audits and regulatory documentation preparation.Collaborate with the commercial team to provide technical input and documentation for client onboarding, custom requests, and stakeholder reporting.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., REACH, CLP, food-contact safety, cosmetic standards) and help monitor material inputs for regulatory traceability.Contribute to troubleshooting and continuous improvement of SOPs, processes, and formulations during scale-up.Uphold strong health and safety practices and support laboratory organisation.QualificationsMSc, MEng, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum one year of hands-on experience in laboratory or production environments (academic or industrial).Experience or interest in scale-up chemistry, batch production, or quality systems is highly desirable.Familiarity with colloidal systems, dispersions, or formulation chemistry is a strong advantage.Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation standards (COAs, MSDS, batch records) preferred.Strong attention to detail and record-keeping for both experimental and production work.Proficiency in Excel and basic data analysis tools (Python, Matlab, or GAMS is a plus).Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Motivated to contribute to sustainable innovation and real-world applications in regulated industries.What We OfferFlexible working model: start part-time (4 days/week) with potential to move full-time.30 days annual leave (pro-rata), plus bank holidays.A mission-driven environment focused on innovation, scale-up, and real-world impact.Opportunities for professional growth across technical, quality, and commercial domains.Exposure to cross-functional projects, including client interaction and product customization.A collaborative team with impact across sectors including food tech, clean beauty, and healthcare.Application ProcessIf you’re a chemistry or chemical engineering graduate passionate about sustainable innovation and interested in working at the interface of science, production, and quality, we encourage you to apply.
