Based in the NEU Head Office (London, WC1H 9BD) 

Permanent, full-time 

Commencing salary £52,642 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) 

The National Education Union is a force for change in the world of education, bringing together more than 450,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff and leaders working in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK. 

The successful candidates will contribute to the advancement of the union’s aims by providing specialist high quality research expertise that underpins, challenges and supports the development of education policy development to advance the organising and influencing agenda of the union. 

They will do this by identifying and analysing data on workforces and workplaces, government policy initiatives and on pupils as well as their relationships with education as well as researching the impact of policies and developing reports to advise relevant colleagues. 

We are seeking applicants with the ability of using Microsoft Office Suite, statistic applications (Python/R), data dashboards (Power BI/Tableau), survey applications and other relevant programmes to support and manage a range of research work. 

They will demonstrate their ability to design research, develop and maintain specialist knowledge as well as good analytical skills to understand, interpret and synthesise information by using a range of research methods, as well as good verbal and presentation skills. 

In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including 33 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a defined benefit pension scheme. Salary and benefits are pro-rata for part-time applicants.
