QA & Release Manager - global software/SAAS provider - remote/UK - £65-70k + benefits.

Role:

  • Responsible for overseeing the Release Management and QA teams (in different countries), ensuring smooth integration of infrastructure and Middleware upgrades, and maintaining high-quality software product delivery.
  • This role is critical in managing end-to-end release processes and leading the QA team to uphold the highest standards of quality assurance through both manual and automated testing.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at improving both the release processes and quality assurance practices, leveraging insights from testing activities to enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Lead a team of QA manual and QA automation engineers, setting clear goals and expectations, providing coaching, and fostering a high-performing team culture.
  • Develop and implement an effective quality assurance strategy, define best practices, and oversee the execution of comprehensive test plans.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Release and QA teams by implementing changes and enhancements to testing and release methodologies.
  • Actively participate in Continual Service Improvement efforts for all Release Services Processes and Procedures.
  • Manage documentation related to releases, implementation plans, and quality assurance processes, ensuring all documentation is finalized and stored in electronic document storage systems.
  • Take accountability for all Service Level Agreements related to environment provisioning, component deployments, and quality assurance.

Experience:

  • 5- 7+ years commercial experience
  • Solid experience with ITIL Processes for Release, Change and Configuration Management and Quality Assurance
  • Proven leadership experience in managing QA and Release Management teams
  • Strong technical background in software development (.NET/C# preferred), quality assurance, or related fields.
  • Experience with JIRA, Atlassian products, confluence, Agile, and industry-standard CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Teamcity, Octopus.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective internal and external collaboration.
  • Experience in implementing risk management strategies, conducting post-release reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Relevant degree and/or certifications
