Our client is actively seeking a Data Steward to join their Data Management Office (DMO) within the Data Team. The Data Management Office is responsible for maintaining the company’s data quality. They are looking for a data steward with great attention to detail and organisational skills. An individual who likes solving problems and is interested in learning about our diverse business units.


This role is to be performed on a Hybrid basis and will require 2/3 days per week onsite in West London.


Key Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum of two years of experience in a data management, archiving, cataloguing, or similar role.
  • Detail-oriented and can exercise creativity in researching data issues. You have excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Results-oriented and work with a sense of urgency. You are assertive, responsible for your work (self-directed) and able to meet deadlines while also comfortable working in a collaborative and team environment.
  • Enjoy working with business stakeholders across the company and are responsive, courteous and thorough in handling questions and requests from colleagues unfamiliar with data management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.


Main Responsibilities:


Data Quality & Data Governance -

  • Create master data associated with the business domains in which the business operates
  • Define the master data required for a process/ system to perform a task and find the right source of data
  • Recommend creative solutions to resolve issues in data quality and metrics
  • Cleanse data by removing duplicates and curating data to internal specifications
  • Maintain a backlog of data governance implementation issues of the business’s master data and build solutions to these issues
  • Support the definition and implementation of data governance policies, processes, and controls to promote quality and compliance for the business’s master data
  • Ensure compliance with business data management policies


Collaboration -

  • Collaborate with the Product Management team and business users to ensure that data-related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, understood and followed
  • Collaborate with a larger data team to ensure our master data is providing value
  • Collaborate with product owners in business units to rationalise data needs and define authoritative sources of data
  • Help embed a data-driven mindset across the organisation (e.g., mentor and educate data users on the data management processes and policies)
  • Collaborate with other data stewards for sharing/ learning best practices on data governance as well as Data Management Office processes
  • Train business stewards in data management and governance best practices



Location: UK Hybrid/ London
