Youll play a key role in managing compliance accounting and treasury activities across UKG and John Sands while supporting wider Finance initiatives.Who are we looking forYou should be a proactive confident self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Youll be comfortable managing multiple priorities meeting deadlines and supporting both internal colleagues and external contacts where required.Key ResponsibilitiesCustoms Duty compliance and accounting for UKG and John Sands working closely with the International team and becoming the key Finance contact for international tradeUKG Fixed Assets / Capital accounting reconciliation and reporting in addition supporting our Financial Planning & Analysis team with planning and estimating workInter-company accounting and reconciliation for John SandsMonth-end close responsibilities including accruals prepayments journal entries variance analysis and commentaryAdministration of the Purchase Authorisation Index which defines the company policy on the level of financial commitment each colleague can makeBanking absence cover for the daily banking process inputting payments and direct debits into online banking as part of a team rotaTreasury responsibility for cashflow reporting across UKG and John SandsPreparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations within the roles area of remitAssist the Financial Accounting Manager as required on compliance tax work and UK & Ireland statutory reporting acting as the main supportAd-hoc project work as required.Key AttributesHighly organised with excellent communication skillsA team player comfortable dealing with colleagues across the business and where required with external contacts.Ability to meet strict deadlines prioritise work effectively and multi-task as required.High integrity and always ensuring confidentiality.A track record of driving change through process improvement.Strong Excel and Microsoft Office knowledge.Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA background required ideally actively studying.The role requires flexibility which may involve working on some UK bank holidays where the month end close aligns.If youre ready to take the next step in your finance career and make a real impact apply today and join our teamNotes/Brief for Recruitment Team:Who we are We help make the world a more thoughtful and caring place every single day with our greeting cards gift dressings and party supplies products created for lifes big events special occasions and those saw-this-and-thought-of-you moments in life.Along with our sister company John Sands who are based in Australia and New Zealand were part of the American Greetings Corporation one of the largest privately owned greeting card publishers in the world.As the largest direct to retail publisher of greeting cards and social expression products in the UK we are the celebrations destination.
