The Trust is an expanding multi-academy trust with 11 primary and 9 secondary schools. The Role They are seeking a hard-working, highly organised and proactive professional to serve as PA to the Headteacher. The successful candidate will provide a high-calibre, confidential service to the Headteacher, ensure the effective operation of the school office and line manage the Office Administrators. The role requires impeccable communication, excellent administrative skills, financial accuracy and the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in a busy, dynamic environment. The postholder will be an ambassador for the Primary School, someone who models their values and helps ensure that every interaction reflects their ethos. The PA to the Headteacher provides a confidential, high-quality personal and administrative service to support the Headteacher in all aspects of their role. The postholder always acts as a professional representative of the school and manages the day-to-day operation of the school office, ensuring smooth, efficient and welcoming administration. The postholder will: Adhere to the Primary Schools policies, values and safeguarding responsibilities. Handle confidential or sensitive information with absolute discretion. Participate in performance management and ongoing professional development. Undertake any duties consistent with the role, as reasonably requested by the Headteacher. Skills and Qualifications The professional competencies expected of all support staff are: Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully and professionally with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external partners; able to work as part of an effective and flexible team. Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure. Flexibility and resilience in managing a varied workload and responding to unexpected demands. High levels of organisation and reliability; able to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines. Willingness to accept responsibility, use initiative and work with minimal supervision. Resilience and problem-solving skills; able to respond positively to challenges. Strong planning, organisational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail. The professional competencies expected of the Headteachers PA are: Outstanding administrative and organisational skills. Excellent standard of written English and professional presentation in all communications. Strong interpersonal skills; able to manage sensitive or challenging conversations with tact. Discretion, integrity and the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality. Ability to work independently, anticipate needs and manage a varied workload. Calm, professional manner and the ability to cope with unexpected demands. Ability to lead and develop administrative staff as part of a cohesive team. The qualifications and experience required of the Headteachers PA are: A minimum of a grade C / 4, or equivalent, in English and Maths GCSE. High level of literacy and numeracy. Proven experience in a busy administrative, secretarial or office management role, ideally in a school setting. Proficient in ICT systems, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident use of digital systems. Experience using school MIS systems;Bromcom experienceor the ability to learn new systems quickly. Experience supervising or line managing administrative staff (desirable). Experience in financial administration, including processing orders, invoices or school payments (desirable). Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft professional correspondence. Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR obligations (training can be provided). First Aid qualification, or willingness to undertake training (desirable).
