As Wanderlust continues its dynamic growth in both the UK and international travel markets, we are seeking an experienced, creative, and highly organized individual to join our commercial delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for travel –particularly in the Middle East and North Africa regions – and possess the expertise to support the delivery of campaigns across our digital, print, and event platforms.


The Special Features Editor will play a critical role in shaping and executing high-value, multi-platform partnerships within the Wanderlust portfolio, with a strong focus on clients from the Middle East and North Africa. The successful candidate will also contribute to campaigns across other global regions, working with tourism boards, tour operators, and travel brands.


This hybrid position offers the flexibility of working both remotely and in the office, requiring a combination of creative ideation, client management, and meticulous project execution to deliver a first-class service.

Key Responsibilities


  • Generate creative campaign ideas to align with client objectives.
  • Leverage expertise in the Middle East and North Africa to provide invaluable insights for campaigns.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of campaign delivery, from concept to completion, ensuring optimal performance and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and oversee production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including partnerships, editorial, and design.
  • Commission and edit content across a range of channels, select images, upload content and contribute to newsletters.
  • Develop knowledge of creative tools and platforms to enhance campaign delivery.
  • Craft compelling social media posts and utilize analytics tools (Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics) to track campaign success.
  • Compile detailed post-campaign reports for clients.
  • Use Trello to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Stay informed on travel industry news and emerging trends.
  • Represent Wanderlust at industry events, including evening and weekend events throughout the year, press trips, conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Report regularly to the Special Features Managing Editor and VP of Brand Partnerships.


Essential Skills


  • Extensive experience in campaign and project management within the travel industry.
  • Strong commissioning, sub-editing and writing skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Keen eye for high-quality imagery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of the travel and tourism sectors.
  • First-hand travel experience in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Creative problem-solving ability.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently and under pressure.
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in using platforms such as WordPress, Trello, and Google Analytics.


Desirable Skills


  • Proficiency in Arabic.
  • Experience working with clients from the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Business travel experience within the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Comfort with public speaking for events and media appearances.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, Adestra, and Facebook Ads Manager.


Salary


Competitive, dependent on experience, with an attractive bonus and commission structure.
