**Your role**:You will be responsible for overseeing the features section, managing a team of writers, and curating content that resonates with our diverse audience. Helping to ensure TV Mag has brilliant exclusive interviews, the best access to talent and the lowdown on all the top TV shows so we outshine all other TV magazines and supplements. You will do this by working closely with the Editor, Forward Planning Editor, writers and other departments to ensure we have the best features and previews every week.

**Day to day you will**:

- Write impeccable and colourful copy, including soaps.
- Commission and edit features and previews.
- Set up interviews with talent by liaising with PRs.
- Create clever feature ideas.
- Manage the features team, its workflow and its calendar including approving and making provision for annual leave
- Make the most of our brilliant access to TV talent and seek out exclusives to ensure we rise above the competition week in week out.
- Commission and edit features and previews from permanent staff and freelance writers, and managing payments of freelancers.
- Come up with innovative, creative ideas and concepts for interviews and features on a weekly basis.
- Help manage and compile planning lists and previews lists in collaboration with the features team and industry contacts. Always keep an eye on future issues of the magazine as well as the current one.
- Keep abreast of current affairs and TV news and have a thorough knowledge of the TV and streaming landscape.
- Work across different platforms within the brand and having an awareness of the use of social media
- Work closely and in collaboration with other teams on the magazine, and departments within the company, particularly TV Biz and TV online.
- Make and maintain great contacts with PRs and freelance writers.

**What we’re looking for from you**:

- Outstanding copy editor with a great eye for detail and strong knowledge of house style.
- Outstanding contacts with PRs and agents.
- An expert knowledge of TV shows, celebrities and soap.
- Experience working with a magazine or newspaper
- Willingness to go the extra mile and ability to turn hand to interviews, real-life features, copy-editing and preview writing, often at short notice
- Superb organisation skills, able to manage a busy team and ensure work is fairly distributed and deadlines are always met
- Willingness to work flexible hours whenever required to meet the demands of weekly deadlines. Attending launches, screenings and interviews out of normal working hours.
- Readiness to cover for Editor in their absence and step up to approve layouts, imagery and copy, while also coming up with imaginative and eye-catching headlines and sells.
- Recognising and acting upon any potential legal issues and acting in accordance with the PCC Code of Conduct.
