Senior Cybersecurity Engineer


About the Role: We are looking for a seasoned Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join a leading organisation dedicated to securing next-generation applications. This role offers a unique opportunity to take charge of the security architecture and practices for software developed across various teams. You will work closely with engineers to identify and remediate software vulnerabilities, implement robust security controls, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Vulnerability Management: Collaborate with engineering teams to detect and explain software vulnerabilities, providing actionable recommendations for remediation. Utilize your expertise to prevent security flaws from entering production.
  • Security Awareness: Actively promote security awareness within the development teams by highlighting current exploits and assessing their urgency. Educate teams on the importance of secure coding practices and potential risks.
  • Security Architecture & Design: Provide security architecture insights throughout the software development lifecycle—from initial concept to production deployment. Ensure that all designs align with best practices in application security and comply with standards such as PCI, SOC, GDPR, CCPA, and cloud security guidelines.
  • Compliance & Standards: Align security solutions with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Contribute to the continuous improvement of security policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Serve as a key advisor to business stakeholders, clearly articulating security concerns and proposing design solutions that balance security and business needs.

What You Bring:


  • Experience: Strong level of experience in application security or a closely related field. A solid foundation in software security and software engineering is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java and/or .NET, with hands-on experience using DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) and SAST (Static Application Security Testing) tools.
  • Code Review: Demonstrated ability to perform security code reviews and identify potential vulnerabilities within codebases.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Expertise: Deep understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography, and securing APIs. Experience in web application security and WAF (Web Application Firewall) protection.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with payment industry standards and PCI compliance.
  • Certifications: CISSP or equivalent certifications are a plus.
