Be part of making lives better as a Support Worker at Stockwood House, Talbot House and Ellenbrook House in Luton and experience what delivering great healthcare should feel like.
Use your knowledge, experience, and caring nature to make a positive difference to the lives of people with eating disorders
You’ll be looked after, with a fulfilling career where you’re valued, recognised, and supported, with colleagues there for you and a culture built on kindness and teamwork.
There’s also a range of training and development options available to help you achieve your career aspirations, allowing you to grow and succeed as a Support Worker and beyond. Over 2,000 staff had a promotion last year, that’s 25% of the workforce, so the opportunities really are there.
What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with eating disorder conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.
Your day-to-day will include supporting residents with meal planning, meal prep, and at mealtimes. Offered individualised care to each resident, closely monitored residents' physical health and escalate concerns accordingly.
Each shift you will be asked to update patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.
It is a wonderful environment, and we ask everyone to bring a positive attitude, compassion, kindness to every shift. It is hugely rewarding to support and be part of the resident's recovery path.
Where you will be working
Locations: 32 Studley Road, 1 & 10 Cutenhoe Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU3 1BB

The care homes provide care and support for people with eating disorders, with extra support around meals and food choices, a comprehensive group timetable and higher levels of assistance with community activities. Recovery at Talbot House can lead to a discharge to nearby Stockwood or Ellenbrook House which offer a more multifaceted rehabilitation plan, allowing you to be part of their longer-term recovery, seeing them improve up to being discharged.
What you will get
- An hourly rate of £11.50 (increasing to £12.00 after probation)
- The equivalent of 33 days annual leave (inc Bank Holidays) – plus your birthday off
- Wellbeing support and activities to help you maintain a great work-life balance.
