Entrepreneurial CEO for Ecomedic

A venture which aims to reduce the environmental footprint of the healthcare sector with a life cycle assessment software.

The invention

Hospitals are looking to take action to reduce their environmental impact, which is larger than that of aviation (source). However, existing software for tracking emissions in healthcare mainly focuses on top-down accounting, which doesn't provide actionable information for daily operations. There is a lack of solutions that can systematically measure all factors contributing to emissions from clinical pathways, making it challenging to implement effective decarbonization efforts. Ecomedic is striving to promote eco-friendliness in healthcare by providing a software tool for life cycle assessment (LCA) of value chains. This tool evaluates and presents the environmental impact of clinical pathways and treatments, allowing for optimizations that reduce carbon emissions. Through this software, hospitals can receive emission-saving recommendations and reports on their value chains, thus facilitating decarbonization efforts.

The position of the CEO

The CEO will be responsible for developing and executing the overall business and commercial strategy, fundraising and partnering with other strategic partners.

Characteristics and qualifications:

We're seeking a CEO who brings a unique set of skills and experiences to lead Ecomedic.

  • You should have a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including its challenges, trends, and regulations, and the ability to navigate its unique dynamics.
  • You should also possess an entrepreneurial mindset, with a track record of building and scaling innovative businesses.
  • We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in financial planning and fundraising, and understanding market trends. A proven track record in securing funding, developing pricing strategies, and navigating the competitive landscape is essential. The ideal candidate should excel at interpreting financial data to make informed decisions that enhance financial performance, while driving sustainable growth through successful fundraising initiatives.
  • Your knowledge of sustainability principles, environmental impact assessment, and decarbonization in the healthcare industry will be valuable, as well as your ability to collaborate with stakeholders and drive partnerships.
  • You should be a visionary and strategic thinker, capable of developing and executing long-term plans to achieve our goals.
  • In addition, we're looking for a CEO with strong leadership and communication skills. Someone who can inspire and motivate their team, promote a collaborative and inclusive work culture, and effectively communicate the company's vision, objectives, and progress to various stakeholders, such as employees, investors, partners, and customers.

The opportunity

We offer the unique opportunity to an entrepreneur or executive with entrepreneurial ambition to come on board as a partner (essentially co-founder) in a highly promising venture. The participation package includes:

  • Equity-based remuneration.
  • Cash compensation tied to successful funding of the company.
  • The opportunity to Co-fund at a favourable valuation.
  • Access to the expertise and network of the entire NLC ecosystem including the use of NLC Venture Services.
  • Sparring and support from your Venture Partner and the dozens of CEO's leading our other (100+) ventures.

Last but not least:

Becoming the CEO of Ecomedic presents a unique opportunity to lead an innovative healthcare software venture that aims to promote eco-friendliness in the industry. As the healthcare sector is facing increasing pressure to reduce its environmental impact, Ecomedic's life cycle assessment tool presents a solution for hospitals to systematically measure and optimize their carbon emissions, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable future.
