One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Officer. This is a temporary contract for 1 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.Main Purpose of Post/Job SummaryIn this role, the post holder will assist with the operation of Transport Administration department, in providing high quality service, to meet the operational and technical requirements of Fleet Transport and Vehicle Maintenance Section.The successful post holder will resolve supplier/customer issues in a polite, efficient manner.Duties and Responsibilities * Assist with maintenance of vehicle accident damage / incident records. * To resolve supplier / customer issues in a polite, efficient manner for example late payment of invoice. * Liaison with Customers to ensure a replacement vehicle is provided from fleet resources or external hire companies as required. * To assist the Fleet Support Manager [SD1] with the computerised fuel monitoring system. * To assist in the running of Transport Reception desk, dealing with customer queries in a polite, timely and professional manner. * To assist in the management of the transport vehicle pool and hire fleet to ensure the highest practical level of utilisation. * To liaise with internal customers and commercial hire companies or other contractors to arrange vehicle / plant spot hire and other services as required. * To assist in maintaining comprehensive vehicle records, both manually and computerised to comply with legal requirements. * To assist in filing statutory documents and other clerical duties as required. * To liaise with suppliers of workshop equipment and arrange service visits as required.The above is a brief overview of the role, details and specification will be provided should you be successful.
