Salary: £30k - 35k (dependent on experience and current skillset)


We are looking to hire a highly experienced Videographer/Content Creator, to further expand both the quantity and quality of our video output for a range of national and international clients. The role will involve leading on the shooting and editing of digital content from both a technical and editorial standpoint, devising and developing creative concepts for prospective and existing clients, and helping to manage client relationships. Candidates must have significant industry experience, either working full-time on commercial content for multiple years in a similar position at an established and reputable creative/video production agency or major media outlet. Experience managing campaigns for high end brands and clients is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will have exceptional organisational skills, editorial judgement and attention to detail, be highly self-motivated and a positive influence on the rest of the team. You will have exceptional technical and creative skills in video editing, with the ability to design and create motion graphics essential. You will have excellent skills in lighting and camera operation, particularly Sony FX-series cameras, and be comfortable shooting solo, including directing on-camera talent. You will be enthused by the prospect of working on large sporting events, corporate and lifestyle shoots. You will bring a very positive approach to your work and be comfortable dealing with clients and the creative process from ideation to post-production. Additional technical skills such as aerial video qualifications, photography and more advanced motion graphics proficiency will be looked upon very favourably. Existing client pool/relationships to bring on board would also be a bonus. As well as technical skills, you will bring a creative approach to pre-production and concept development, and be able to manage your own time effectively to contribute in multiple areas of the production process.

Toolebox Films (tooleboxfilms.com) is an established video production company based in Manchester, with a track record of producing high quality content for large international brands. While we work across many sectors and industries, including lifestyle and industry, our speciality is sport, with our regular clients including global organisations such as Liverpool FC, Manchester United FC, Leeds United FC, British Cycling and UEFA. As a result, we get to work on fantastic projects in some exclusive and exciting locations. As a small team, we expect our staff to be multi-skilled and able to contribute to the business in a number of ways, though each with their own speciality.


RESPONSIBILITIES


PRIMARY

  • Editing video and audio content for online distribution - multiple formats, aspect ratios and subtitling
  • Leading on lighting and shooting video content
  • Designing and building motion graphics
  • Devising and developing creative content ideas for existing and prospective clients
  • Pitching content ideas to in-house team and clients
  • Overseeing shoot planning and organisation
  • Managing talent and crew on set
  • Liaising with clients about briefs and projects
  • Managing editing projects, archive and workflows
  • Training and developing in other areas of production
  • Building and maintaining client relationships


SECONDARY

  • Social media posting
  • Researching new video content trends and ideas
  • Training and developing junior team members
  • Attending networking events
  • Identifying and helping to bring on board new clients


SKILLS


REQUIRED

  • Multiple years' experience in a mid to senior role at a Digital/Creative agency or major media outlet
  • Exceptional editorial judgement
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional skills in, and significant experience of, Adobe Creative Cloud - particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Exceptional skills in lighting and camera operation (Sony FX series preferably)
  • Excellent knowledge of editing workflows and formats
  • Ability to visualise, design and create high end motion graphics
  • Excellent eye for colour grading
  • In depth knowledge of online video content and trends
  • Ability to adjust working processes to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and to a brief
  • Willingness to work flexible/unsociable hours
  • Very high production standards and expectations
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work on own initiative


PREFERABLE

  • Significant skills in other areas of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Abilities in other editing software - AVID, Da Vinci Resolve
  • Drone/aerial video qualifications (inc. FPV)
  • Photography
  • Advanced motion graphics
  • Ability to storyboard
  • Knowledge of AI workflows and trends for video production
  • Driving license and own transport
