Job Title: Locum Band 7 Speech and Language TherapistBanding: Band 7Location: John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation TrustStart Date: ASAPWorking Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am4:30pmRate: Competitive dependent on experienceJob OverviewPulse is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join the inpatient team at John Radcliffe Hospital. This locum role offers the opportunity to work across general medicine wards including care of the elderly cardiac respiratory emergency medicine trauma and a cardiothoracic critical care unit.The successful candidate will provide advanced assessment and treatment for dysphagia and communication disorders and must be confident working flexibly across other inpatient caseloads such as Acute Neurosciences Critical Care and Acute Stroke.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of acutely unwell patients across general medicine wardsDeliver specialist assessment and treatment for dysphagia and communication disordersSupport other inpatient services as needed with clinical supervisionProvide line management and professional supervision to junior SLTsContribute to service development audits and quality improvement initiativesMaintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold professional standardsEssential SkillsHCPC registration (required)Advanced competencies in at least one of the following: Tracheostomy care Videofluoroscopy/Modified Barium Swallow (VFS/MBS) Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES) Experience in line management and clinical supervision Strong communication and clinical reasoning skillsDesirable SkillsKnowledge of quality improvement and service delivery projectsExperience in acute hospital settingsWhy PulseAt Pulse we put you first.
