Hendy Group are delighted to share a high profile senior leadership role providing opportunity for an experienced and proven Head of Marketing to join our Commercial Operations Directorate. This role would ideally suit a strategic senior leader who will be responsible for driving the overall long-term marketing strategy and execution to achieve Hendy’s business objectives. This role will report to our Director – Commercial Operations.


Ideally you will be located within easy reach to our Hampshire/Dorset locations, however frequent regional travel will be required to fulfil the needs of our multi-site organisation.


The Head of Marketing Opportunity


The Head of Marketing will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will have overall responsibility for overseeing the development and implementation of innovative marketing campaigns, enhancing brand awareness, and fostering customer engagement, as well as playing an important role in developing talent for the future.


Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic planning: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent and effective brand messaging across all channels, whilst enhancing and maintaining brand identity and reputation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a diverse marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximising ROI.
  • Digital Marketing: Drive digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, Social and Paid Search.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilise data-driven insights to measure and improve the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of marketing strategies.
  • Customer Focus: Champion a customer-centric approach, enhancing engagement and loyalty through targeted marketing efforts.

About you:

  • Educated to degree level in Marketing.
  • Robust and in-depth experience within UK retail is essential.
  • Experience in leading a team, in a fast-paced, everchanging culture, will benefit performance in role.
  • Experience working with senior management (Directors and Board-level) with proficiency in presenting recommendations for marketing spend and projected investment ROI.
  • Experience of working with external agencies for full-service marketing support, SEO, PR and other services
  • Confident leading teams and meetings, with clear agenda, actions, and progress reports, to maximise efficiency of team resource.
  • Must possess a real understanding of consumer & product insight and customer needs, with thorough understanding of how to maximise data
  • A proven track record of executing 360-degree marketing campaigns from concept to launch.
  • Strong budget management experience, and commercially minded, with a proven track record in delivering positive ROI.
  • Experience of leading, creating, and protecting a brand's identity, with excellent attention to detail for proofing and approvals process.
  • Excellent time management & stakeholder management skills
  • Ensure best in class communications internally- ensuring that you display a problem-solving attitude & display skills that can actively promote positive stakeholder buy in.
