We are providing critical help and support to 1000s of households every year in Cornwall who are in need of housing.You will be working with passionate supportive colleagues committed to making a difference to our communities and our residents.If you have no direct experience of working in housing but you have energy learn quickly are caring and have great people skills then we still want to hear from youThe Service & Team:This role is within the Homechoice team Community Services Community and Wellbeing DirectorateThe Role:This is a frontline role maintaining and operating the Councils housing register and administering the Cornwall Homechoice choice-based lettings scheme. You will be providing advice and assistance to applicants as required to enable people to access accommodation. You will identify potentially vulnerable households and make appropriate referrals to Housing Options other relevant agencies or under safeguarding procedures.This is a public/customer-facing role where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.Working Pattern:This is a full-time position 37 hours per week Monday to FridayWhat youll need to succeed:Education to GCSE standard Grade C and above in English and Maths or equivalentProven skills in all aspects of general administrative work particularly keyboard and IT skills to make full use of the Councils IT systems including specialist softwarePrevious experience of working within the housing field and an understanding of accessing social housing would be desirablePlease read the role profile for the full details of this role attached below in this advertWhat youll get in return:Cornwall Councils ambition is to be an employer of choice a high performing Council and a learning organisation.
