About The RoleThe Line Clearance Supervisor will report directly to the Line Clearance Manager (LCM) and will be responsible for establishing and arranging work within a geographical area.You will plan your work according to the priority levels instructed by your LCM, maintaining the highest standards of operational services to support the overall, annual contract delivery.Using your specialist training and expertise, you will evaluate work at job locations and negotiate and plan with the property stakeholders. Liaising closely with your LCM, you will arrange for the work to be completed by staff or sub-contractors.To encourage individual and team ownership within your LCM's assigned area, you will assist with the auditing of all completed work.With availability, you will conduct site assessment surveys to support annual survey, resilience and similar requirements.You will promote excellent health and safety practice, supporting the contract to encourage a proactive environment of shared learning.

You will be working Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30, 40 hours per week, on a temporary, full-time basis.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Evaluate and consent work in your geographical area, ensuring it is planned and completed according to your LCM's programme.
  • The staff or subcontractors available to you should be equipped and motivated to deliver operations to excellent standards of safety, compliance and efficiency. Where they are not, you contact your LCM prior to work starting.
  • You will support and promote the proactive nature of our work and demonstrate firm leadership when needed.
  • You will retain responsibility of your work through to completion, so when planning, you will liaise closely with your LCM around forecasted work volumes, costs, and challenges to ensure planned output is met.
  • Ensure that work specifications and method statements are fully completed and the selected team to carry out the work are trained and compliant for the tasks.
  • During work planning, you will ensure operational procedures, safe working methods and best environmental practices are followed according to customer requirements and Company compliance procedures.
  • You will make sure all documentation required to carry out work in a compliant manner is available to the work team. If required, you will complete the sections of this, relevant to your role, before site work starts. You will provide regular tracking updates to your LCM.
  • Your work must comply with current legislation, and you will continuously reinforce the importance of safety performance and internal company and customer standards.
  • You will assist in the auditing of all completed work
  • Take opportunities to develop customer relationships that may have future benefits.
  • Support your LCM in closing out audit actions according to timescales.
  • Make recommendations on improvement or efficiencies.
  • Support your LCM by strictly following procedures in the event of an incident.
  • You will be polite and courteous at all times.

Requirements:

  • Good standard of basic education
  • Reasonable computer literacy/administrative skills (using app-based data collection and form filling, writing of emails)
  • Experienced UA5 qualified or equivalent level training (includes Lantra Transmission Surveyor)
  • Any relevant industry qualification (preferred)
  • Professional Tree Inspector (PTI) (a mandatory training requirement if not already held).
  • Credible track record in Utility Arboriculture
  • High personal standards around quality or work completed attached to your responsibility
  • The ability to communicate both concisely and with professionalism
  • Excellent personal time management skills
  • The ability to comfortably work alone most of the time
  • To work autonomously, with efficiency and flexibility, according to the work demands
  • Customer focused and happy to work in a front-facing environment
