Job DescriptionModelling and Simulation SpecialistLocation: Bristol or Nuneaton (Hybrid 3 days on-site per week)Rate: 500 per day (Inside IR35)Contract: 24 monthsA leading government-backed organisation is seeking a Modelling and Simulation Specialist to join a newly formed team focused on the certification and validation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving Systems (ADS). This is a technically focused position where youll use your expertise in vehicle simulation to assess and validate evidence obtained through simulated environments for type approval.The RoleAs the Modelling and Simulation Specialist you will:Lead assessments of simulation-based evidence to demonstrate compliance with automotive safety and performance standards.Oversee the technical activities involved in validating simulation toolchains and methodologies.Audit processes used by manufacturers to ensure simulation data is reliable credible and compliant with type approval legislation.Conduct credibility assessments of simulations verifying assumptions analysing uncertainty and benchmarking results against real-world data.Develop and refine validation procedures to ensure accuracy reliability and repeatability across simulation environments.Provide expert technical guidance to internal engineers and stakeholders on the use of virtual assessments for type approval.Mentor and support colleagues to enhance simulation and modelling expertise within the wider engineering team.Youll play a key role in advancing the organisations ability to assess vehicle behaviour virtually contributing directly to the safe introduction of automated and driver-assist technologies on UK roads.About YouYou are an experienced simulation professional with a strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and a passion for safety technology and innovation in the automotive space.
