This is a fast-paced, diverse role designed for a highly adaptable, analytical thinker with a strong foundation in start-ups. Ideal candidates bring at least 3 years of experience, preferably as one of the first five hires in a pre-seed start-up, and have expertise in one or more of the following: marketing, digital strategy, SEO, or sales.

- Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with founders to set and implement short- and long-term strategic goals that align with Platter’s mission and values.
- Operational Excellence: Optimise daily operations, identifying and automating key processes to increase overall efficiency.
- Sales and Marketing Support: Contribute to building Platter’s marketing engine by helping to set up channels, execute campaigns, and analyse performance to improve reach and impact.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Gather, analyse, and interpret data from various sources to provide actionable insights and drive business growth.
- Project Management: Oversee critical projects from inception through to execution, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure goals are met.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between departments, ensuring alignment on projects and initiatives.
- Excellence as a Communicator: Be a key element of our internal and external communications, embodying our Values, which include collaboration, integrity, curiosity and fearlessness.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in an early stage, pre-seed start-up as a key team member (ideally one of the first five hires).
- Versatile Skill Set: Proficient in marketing, sales, digital strategy, and/or SEO with hands-on experience in building processes and systems from scratch.
- Adaptable and Resourceful: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and able to pivot as the company scales.
- Analytical and Data-Driven: Demonstrated ability to make data-backed decisions and optimise processes accordingly.

A Typical Day at Platter
As a Founder's Associate at Platter, no two days are the same, but here's a snapshot of what a typical day might look like:
Morning:
- Catch-Up & Thought Session: Start your day with a quick meeting to align with the leadership team and discuss the focus for the week. You’ll review current priorities, identify key challenges, and brainstorm strategic initiatives that will shape the day's work.
Mid-Morning - Lunch:
- Project Management: This is when things really start to pick up. You'll dive into various ongoing projects, coordinating with internal teams and external partners. It’s all about go, go, go as you move projects forward, have discussions, and keep things on track. Whether it’s refining marketing strategies, driving product updates, or ensuring operational tasks are on target, the pace is fast and you’ll be keeping a lot of balls in the air.
Lunch:
- A well-deserved break to recharge and connect informally with team members. It’s a good time to brainstorm ideas, share insights, or chat about non-work topics.
Afternoon:
- Client & Partner Engagement: After lunch, you’ll shift your focus to engaging with key clients and partners. This could involve discussing new opportunities, addressing customer needs, or exploring collaborations that will help drive the business forward.
- Operational Excellence: You’ll also be refining operational processes, identifying areas for improvement, and making sure the business is running efficiently. From optimising workflows to implementing new tools, you’ll help ensure the company runs like a well-oiled machine.
Late Afternoon:
- Team Collaboration: As the day winds down, you’ll have another round of team collaboration, checking in with various departments to ensure projects are aligned and moving smoothly. This is a time to address any roadblocks, celebrate progress, and adjust priorities if needed.
- Wrap-Up: End your day by reviewing the tasks completed and setting priorities for tomorrow. You’ll make sure everything is in order, and you'll document any key takeaways from the day's discussions.
Throughout the day, you’ll be driving projects, collaborating across departments, and supporting strategic initiatives that impact Platter’s growth and success. Every day offers the chance to take on new challenges, make key decisions, and contribute directly to the company's mission.
Impact of the Founder's Associate Role
As the Founder's Associate at Platter, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future, working directly with the leadership team to drive growth, streamline operations, and help execute the vision for transforming the wholesale food sector.

- Empower the CEO/Founder: By taking on critical tasks and supporting strategic initiatives, you’ll free up the CEO/Founder to focus on scaling the company, expanding partnerships, and driving long-term vision. Your ability to manage day-to-day operations will enable the leadership team to make faster, more effective decisions and drive the company forward.
- Develop Key Areas of the Business: From marketing to operational improvements, you’ll help develop and refine Platter’s business strategies. Whether it’s shaping the company’s brand, executing high-impact marketing campaigns, or optimising internal processes, you’ll be a key player in helping Platter grow and succeed.
- Co-Create the Startup Culture: As one of the early hires at Platter, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the company’s culture from the ground up. This is your chance to influence the values, work environment, and ethos that make Platter a great place to work, one that encourages creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
- Help Platter Scale and Make an Impact: You’ll play a key role in helping Platter grow to the next level, whether it’s expanding our product offering, scaling our marketing efforts, or working directly with customers to help them reduce waste, save time, and drive efficiencies in the wholesale food sector.
