An opportunity has arisen for a Chief Programme Manager to join a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. The purpose of the role is to run the qualification campaign for the new Power System for the new T264 Battery Electric Truck. This role is responsible for all aspects of the qualification programme from strategy, planning, execution and reporting. This role us a critical part of the Decarb team achieving “Real Zero by 2030” across Fortescue.

The Decarb Programme is a very high priority across Fortescue and the T264 team based at Fortescue ZERO in Oxfordshire are responsible for developing and delivering the battery power systems to electrify the mining operations in Perth, AU by 2030.

What you will do

Customer Relationship

  • Establish, develop and manage strong working relationship with customers, at all levels to enable the success of the programme
  • Act as an escalation point of contact to the customer for all aspects of the project supporting the Programme Director and Senior Programme Managers
  • Maintain global communications at a senior level across all stakeholders
  • Enable full integration and collaborative working between suppliers, internal teams and external customers
  • Escalation
  • To effectively manage all stakeholder relationships escalating technical, operational or commercial issues likely to affect programme delivery

Project / Programme

  • Lead the setup and delivery of a large, global, complex qualification campaign in collaboration with the Senior Project Managers and cross functional team
  • Qualification Strategy and Planning
  • Global qualification execution across UK/EU, US and AUS
  • Team setup and mobilisation
  • Active programme risk management
  • Creation of a rapid resolution team to resolve test incidents
  • All verification and validation activities to support requirements compliance
  • Ownership of the Qualification budget and accountable for EAC, ETC and Actuals reporting

Process

  • Define, create and implement new process to enable holistic success of the programme
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of Fortescue ZERO processes for programme delivery
  • Identify, negotiate and agree changes to work scope and control via change management with the stakeholders

About you

  • Experience of leading large complex development programmes and engineering leadership through qualifications programmes is essential. Ideally at system level and within the vehicle power system or electronic product sectors. Experience should include but not limited to:
  • Full cycle development programmes (concept through to requirements validation and compliance closure)
  • PMO leadership
  • Hardware & Software development
  • Development and validation testing
  • Volume production
  • ISO26262 and ASPICE processes
  • PPAP supplier Quality Standards
  • Deep knowledge of NPI process application
  • Comprehensive engineering / technical background is essential
  • Development and maintenance of timing and cost plans
  • Comprehensive experience in stakeholder management, Ability to influence outcomes with key stakeholders
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Proven track record of leading delivery teams delivering large or multiple projects
  • Commercial leadership and negotiation skills
  • APM qualification would be preferable

Staff Development & Training

Responsible for the management and supervision of staff that you directly manage. This will include holiday authorisation, sickness management, communication, conducting performance reviews and overseeing the delivery of staff training and development requirementsImplement the company’s Health & Safety policyResponsible for the coaching, mentoring and professional development of your team
