SAAS General Counsel role for High growth software leader/PE backed business, 15 years’ pqe+, London


We have been retained to recruit an impressive SaaS General Counsel, reporting to the CFO, for our exclusive role with a fast growing software/tech business.


There is a team of around 20 to manage, so people management and leadership experience is important - private equity backed looking to do a flip to another PE firm then IPO in the next few years. Need to be brilliant at working with sales teams


London based 2 days a week in the office at least and Equity on offer as a very attractive part of the package.


Responsibilities:

  • Legal Leadership: Oversee all legal aspects of the company's global operations.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the internal legal department and coordinate with external counsel.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide strategic legal guidance to the CEO, executive leadership team, and the Board on a wide range of matters.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as the primary escalation point for critical legal issues.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure a globally integrated approach to technology law, data privacy compliance, and AI regulation.
  • Support GTM Teams: Ensure the legal team is highly responsive to the needs of our Go-To-Market teams.
  • Commercial Support: Provide practical support to Sales and Partner teams to achieve mutually beneficial commercial arrangements.
  • Innovation in Legal Function: Drive innovation in the legal department by adopting the latest legal technologies and practices.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Corporate Transactions: Support mergers, acquisitions, and due diligence processes.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate legal training within the company to promote awareness and compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 15+ years of legal experience in the technology sector.
  • Expertise: Extensive knowledge in corporate, commercial, and compliance law.
  • Leadership: Prior experience as a Head of Legal or similar senior legal role is preferred.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to work effectively with prospects, customers, partners, and senior executives.
