SEND Case Officer – Make a Difference in Children’s LivesLocation: South East EnglandMyn is proud to recruit for a dedicated SEND Case Officer on behalf of our long-term client in the South East of England. If you're passionate about supporting children and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this is the role for youRole Purpose:As a SEND Case Officer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) from initial application through to annual reviews. Your person-centred approach will be key in coordinating services across education, health, and care to create holistic support plans for children and their families.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND, acting as their key point of contact.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to inform the development of EHCPs.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure appropriate educational provision.
  • Facilitate engagement with educational settings to support and advise on local SEND offers.
  • Use data and feedback to drive service improvements and enhance the quality of plans.
  • Participate in annual reviews, ensuring timely and high-quality assessments.
  • Travel across Surrey and occasionally outside for meetings with families and educational settings.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification at Level 4.
  • Significant experience working with vulnerable children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Familiarity with Surrey’s SEND policy and the Local Offer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationship building.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources, adhering to public funding guidelines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and database management systems.
  • Valid DBS check is required.
