Location: Dundee (3 days in office, 2 days remote)


Salary: Up to £30k, depending on experience

Role Overview:


We are looking for a Service Desk Engineer to join the team. This role requires someone with strong IT knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of both hardware and software systems for a diverse client base.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical assistance for PC and laptop hardware.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 and associated services.
  • Use security tools like AV/EDR, spam filtering, and web filtering to safeguard systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic networking issues, including DHCP/DNS.
  • Implement security best practices to protect systems and data.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in a client-facing role.


Essential Skills:


  • Strong expertise in PC and laptop hardware troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 support.
  • Familiarity with security tools, such as AV/EDR, spam filtering, and web filtering.
  • Understanding of basic networking, including DHCP/DNS.
  • A security-first mindset, with the ability to prevent and mitigate threats.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with customers.


Desirable Skills:


  • A valid UK driver’s license.
  • Experience with ITIL practices.
  • Knowledge of Mac OS.
  • Experience with firewalls/routers.
  • Background in MSP environments (supporting multiple clients).
