Within each area of work, and more generally, we offer a range of services. We are, in effect, part think tank, part strategic advisory consultancy, part polling company, and part communications and public affairs agency.  


The role

We are a friendly and fast growing organisation, looking for a dynamic Office Manager who can ensure that Public First runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining the day to day running of the office, juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities. As the first person any client/new joiner will meet, you should be confident and engaging and able to direct enquiries to the relevant team. You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role and your main duties will include Office Management and HR support.

  • Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise their workload and to work on their own initiative
  • Can show initiative and bring new ideas
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office/Google documents/Excel and other software


Your key responsibilities would include:


General office administration, including:

  • Supporting any office move
  • Ordering office and kitchen supplies, fobs/entry cards and keys for office access
  • Liaising with Landlord, managing agents, cleaners
  • Ensuring office kitchen is operational and not afraid of unpacking a dishwasher
  • Ensuring Health and Safety policies are up-to date
  • Implementing and maintaining procedures/office administrative systems
  • Handling office and supplier payments as required
  • Organising meetings and managing databases
  • Booking staff transport and accommodation
  • Organising company events and conferences
  • Dealing with correspondence, preparing letters, presentations and reports
  • Renewing PF subscriptions and memberships
  • Managing any communication and interaction with Public First, guests, interviewees, new joiners, etc.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties


Responsible for HR support, including:

  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are regularly updated
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Responding to ad hoc HR queries


Location and salary


The role is London based (we have offices in Westminster). It requires being in the office at least three days a week, with core days being Mondays and Thursdays.


Salary will depend on experience, but to give a sense of scale, we are looking at a bracket between £36-£38K.
