Workspace Engineer Job Description
Title: Workspace EngineerLocation: London / Remote Duration: 6 – 12 month contract
Rate: Inside IR35
Industry: Retail and FMCG / B2C
Role Purpose
The Workspace Engineer will manage workspace services including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Citrix, and Office365 across the organization. This role involves technical resource management, supporting operations, and 3rd party management.
The time will be split accordingly on driving 3rd party IT service management with continuous improvements as well as support the in-house lead engineer with day to days and smaller business projects, including a large migration of infrastructure services, from on-premises to the cloud.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Technical Engagement: Act as a subject matter expert, working with programs, architects, and operations.
- Workspace Technical Designs: Create and support technical designs for new projects and operations.
- Solution Implementation: Collaborate with Technical Leads and partners to implement solutions and modernize working methods.
- System Management: Improve systems management processes and procedures for workplace technologies.
- Support: Assist IT and business teams with workplace technologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical Expertise: Experience with Active Directory, ADFS, Citrix, Exchange, and Office365 in complex environments.
- Documentation: Ability to produce and review technical designs and documentation.
- Incident Response: React to escalations during critical incidents and support root cause analysis.
- Communication: Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Background career: starting in technology, having moved into more recent IT operational and 3rd party management. Solid all-round skills and knowledge within this space.
Certifications:
- Microsoft Azure foundation level certified.
- Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert certified.
Required Competencies:
- Customer Focus: Understands business and customer needs, seeks external perspectives.
- Collaboration: Collaborates and influences, creates an inclusive culture, develops talent.
