You'll be instrumental in the development of new Windows and Linux infrastructure as well as the ongoing secure and efficient operation of existing infrastructure. You'll play a crucial part in the design, development, administration and support of complex IT infrastructure systems, including Linux and Windows virtual server administration, server host and storage management, messaging and associated services, Active Directory and Azure AD within an M365 environment.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Deep and substantial knowledge and experience of configuring Windows 11 desktop, operating systems and applications and the VMWare based server and storage technologies to support such configurations.
  • Good operational knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD (and GPO's & policies) and other M365 tools.
  • Understanding of Windows networking concepts (TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP and IPAM etc).
  • Demonstrable IT troubleshooting skills for complex multi-faceted issues. The ability to triage issues and a logical approach to fault investigations, actively documenting tests and results as they are undertaken. Ability to see interconnections between issues and technologies.
  • Strong experience of installing, supporting and maintaining Windows desktop and associated management technologies in an enterprise environment.
  • Extensive experience of desktop infrastructure problem resolution and acting in a 3rd line support capacity for a range of infrastructure technologies.
  • Proven experience of explaining infrastructure, risks and proposals in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Strong experience of infrastructure management & monitoring systems (SIEM, Solarwinds etc).
  • Experience of implementing and managing continuous service improvement to ensure high quality services are delivered.
  • Prior experience of training, mentoring, motivating and developing junior staff, to deliver high quality services.
  • Experience of scripting within Windows (PowerShell).
  • Experience of managing infrastructure security configurations for end-user based technologies (including M365 tools).
