Role - Quality engineerLocation - West MidlandsThe Quality Engineer is a key position within the Quality Function and will be responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, performance and continuous improvement of Project and Operational Quality Management and Control.Reporting to the Operational Quality Manager or the Head of Quality, you will be responsible for day to day operational Quality Management and Control for the projects and/or processes you are responsible for / supporting.The business vision is to have a QA and QC capability that is considered industry class leading and you will be a crucial element of achieving this vision. To meet the business vision and objectives, you will drive productivity improvements within your cell, with a focus on efficient delivery, high standards of Quality and strong EHS culture.ResponsibilitiesProject Quality Engineer ResponsibilitiesTenderingProject Kick offReview of Client SpecificationsManagement of LTQR documentationProduction of Project Quality PlansReview / approval of MITPsFlow down of client Quality requirements to functions and suppliersProduction of contract specific ProceduresApproval of proceduresSupport to Project MeetingsSupport to Client MeetingsProject ReportingClient Non Conformance managementSupport to Internal AuditSupplier Kick-off meetingsCloseout of Operational Non-Conformance ReportsSupport Despatch processReview/approval of supplier MITP and ProceduresSupplier surveillanceManagement of supply chain quality oversight activitiesCompilation, approval and release of customer Life time recordsContinuous Improvement projectsRequirementsIdeally Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance or related subjectProven Engineering, Business Management, Manufacturing or related fieldNuclear Industry experience requiredKnowledge of ISO 9001, EN 3834, EN1090Lead/Internal Auditor in ISO 9001NCR generation and managementExperience of working to Quality Control GradingExperience of working in highly regulated industryExperience and understanding of process improvementStrong Practical Problem Solving skills being able to lead and facilitate activities leading to improvements.6-sigma trained or trained in other problem solving (8D, 6-Sigma, 5S, 7W, etc)
