Contract type: Temporary ongoing
Hourly rate: £15p/h to £20p/h dependant on experience, job role, and environment
We are currently looking to recruit several Enhanced DBS Chefs and Cooks in and around Nottinghamshire, ready for the new school term along with working within Care homes, retirement villages & Nurseries. You will be required to support with any sicknesses on a short term and long term basis, along with any recruitment drives and peak periods.
PLEASE NOTE: To be able to work within this environment you must have enhanced DBS covering adult, child or adult & child workforce, within the last 12 months or on the update service.
If you don't have a DBS, you must be willing to go through all the required checks with us to be provided with one. (This will be at a cost)

* Even though a lot of your roles will be on a temporary basis, these can quite easily lead to permanent work for the right candidates.
Main Duties
- Work within as part of a team
- Putting away stock and deliveries.
- Food orders, dependant on the role you are placed into i.e head chef/chef manager.
- Preparation of food
- Prepping/tidying areas of the kitchen including pot washing.
- Adhering to all relevant health and safety requirements
- Cooking nutritious food within requirements
- Ensure a clean as you go policy is being operated at all times
- Possibly serving food and/or operating a till
Requirements and skills:
* Previous experience as a chef
* Flexibility in shift patterns including weekends
* Great communication and team work skills
* Level 2 food hygiene certificate dated within the last 3 years. (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
* Level 2 Health and Safety Certificate (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
* Passion for food
* Ability to work under pressure
* Due to certain locations a full UK driving license is required along with own access to a vehicle
* A DBS (essential - as mentioned above)
Working Hours: You can choose your working rota each week, the working hours will vary from site to site and may result in more/less work depending on your flexibility.
The hours you will be working in a school or nursery are day shifts across Monday to Friday, usually working anything from 7/8am till around 2/4pm
If you are working within any care homes or retirement villages you will be working 5 days out of 7 which will require weekend. The hours tend to be anything from 6/7am starts until 5/6pm finishes
The working environment: The role you will be working in, is mainly schools and care homes working within contract catering, and cooking to dietary requirements i.e textured meals. So knowledge around this is essential. You will also be involved in some of the serving and will come in contact with patients and children.
