Due to promotion and growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Water Hygiene Technical Assistant to support the Microbiology Business Manager and H&H Technical Manager in delivering Water Hygiene services to clients. You will be required to perform tasks at client sites using Intertek office as a base. You will work closely with all members of the H&H Team but be able to work independently.

The Role:
  • Working closely with the Water Hygiene Coordinator for planning purposes, attending client sites performing Water Hygiene Control Measures; water quality sampling, system flushing, temperature monitoring, showerhead & hose clean & disinfect, tank inspections and tank clean and disinfects
  • Client sites range from marine vessels, yards, workshops, offices, and accommodation facilities, ensure all client Health & Safety regulations are followed when at the site and develop professional rapport with client contacts
  • Sampling procedures will be carried out following appropriate standards and inhouse standard operating procedures, training will be given and audited. Sample Request Forms to be completed with submission of samples at our lab
  • Legionella Control Measures will be carried out following appropriate standards and in-house standard operating procedures, training will be given and audited. Completion of site logbooks and population of in-house database. Any out of specification results or faults observed must be reported to the client via fault log and by e-mail.
  • Some onsite testing and sampling may be required at locations where Metal Cutting Fluid is used following in-house standard operating procedures, training will be given and audited.
  • As above, carry out Legionella Control Tasks for Intertek Aberdeen premises
  • Operate the Legionella Management Tool (LMT) Database to close out tasks, monitor data, supply initial feedback, generate trends for use in reports. Liaise with client to supply login details, reset passwords
  • Occasionally deliver materials as required in the local area to facilitate the smooth running of the Aberdeen operation
  • As the role involves close working with the Water Hygiene Coordinator some holiday cover may require additional planning and quoting activities
