As the senior manager within the HR Team, you will ensure that we have a positive impact upon the lives of people, families and communities ensuring we systematically support every worker to be at their best and reach their potential.

This is a dynamic leadership role in which you will never settle for “good enough” but will always prioritise effectively in an ever-changing environment. You will appreciate that there is always capacity to innovate, improve, develop, and push the boundaries of possibility in support of Carr Gomm’s pursuit of a more equitable society in which people can lead full and positive lives as active citizens.

You will develop strong relationships throughout Carr Gomm, gaining and developing a deep knowledge of our operations, policies, and strategic objectives.

The role:

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will be responsible for all Human Resource operations within the organisation, including developing and implementing relevant policies, partnering with senior managers to provide advice and guidance, and ensuring our HR operating model continues evolve to meet the dynamic needs of our organisation.

Success in this role includes:

Providing an effective and efficient comprehensive HR service, including payroll. Leading the development and implementation of strategic HR policies and projects. Championing Diversity, Equality and Inclusion as an integral part of our culture. Using management information to ensure informed strategic decision-making. Ensuring Carr Gomm’s voice contributes to sectoral HR best practice and influences the future of social care in Scotland.

This is by no means an exhaustive list; rather it gives a flavour of the joy that can be achieved in this leadership role. Experience within social care is beneficial, but not essential.

Supporting the HR team to provide expert advice and constructive guidance to colleagues, in partnership with our partners and Stakeholders.

Absence Management

Delivering proactive, person-centered wellbeing supports, in partnership with colleagues and line managers, to maximise the impact of all employees in the workplace and to minimise sickness absence.

Management Information

Ensuring the development, integration and capability of HR systems are maximised and that robust HR management information continually meets the needs of the organisation, regulatory bodies and legal compliance.

Human Resources Team

Coaching the team of HR professionals to promote a responsive, creative, curious and committed culture in-line with the philosophy and values of the organisation.

Learning and Development

Supporting local teams to achieve organisational consistency and excellence in all learning and development.
