The Social Care Payments Team sits within Corporate Finance, and processes payments to care providers for Adults and Children's services.

This a busy team who are responsible for the accurate and timely processing of data files and invoices to support key payment cycles and deadlines. The team process a high volume of data and payments for various types of care, incorporating a number of different systems and processes.

The team work closely with partners and colleagues across Social Care and Financial Management. 

This is a busy and challenging role which involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a high level of service is delivered, providing timely payments, resolving queries, providing advice, maintaining data & systems, and improving working processes.

The role holder will have a caseload of providers and customers and will manage their payments in accordance with relevant systems, policies and procedures and internal staff guidance for the payment processes. This includes maintaining financial records, analysing, interrogating and monitoring data and financial and administrative systems. 

The role holder will also be expected to respond to queries from a wide range of people, including both internal and external customers, and build good relationships with all stakeholders to provide a high standard of service. 

The role will also involve supporting the Payments Assistants with complex queries, and supporting the Team Leaders and Operations Manager with system and process developments.

You should be self-driven to work in a fast-paced environment, be able to work to deadlines and adapt to unexpected challenges. You should be able to identify problems and use your initiative to find and implement practical solutions.

We are looking for candidates with an eye for detail who can work as part of a team and work proactively under their own initiative.

Applicants should also demonstrate the following skills and experience: 
Experience in finance or transactional services  Excellent IT skills, ability to learn and use various systems and advanced Excel skills to manage large volumes of data  Good numeracy and literacy skills  Strong analytical, interrogation and problem-solving skills  Excellent communication skills and ability to build good relationships with stakeholders for effective service delivery  Organised and able to prioritise work and manage time in order to meet deadlines Knowledge of social care provision (desirable)  Personal commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement.
