What the day will look like
  • Carefully managing the claims negotiation process with clients, underwriters and/or their appointed representatives
  • Using Class and ECF to notify and manage the claims process
  • Provision of advice and guidance on coverage
  • Proactively anticipate and present to clients the best strategies for claims resolution
  • Negotiation the payment and settlement of claims with clients and underwriters, specifically the London Market
  • Support and work with broking teams for pre-renewal meetings, placing and renewal negotiations
  • Data analysis to establish claims history and to identify trends and patterns in claims
How this opportunity is different This is an outstanding opportunity to join a high-performing marine claims team that is respected globally. Handling US Marine claims there will be exciting opportunities to travel to meet clients and experts when appropriate.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Experience of predominantly US Liability Claims, with additional experience in H&M, P&T, Offshore Construction or Yachts, being advantageous
  • Proven interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with domestic and international clients and colleagues
  • Experience of end to end Marine claims handling within the London Market
  • A good analytical mindset, evidenced by previous fact-based decision making and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable negotiation skills
