**Job Purpose**:
To handle Marine claims within the London Market Claims team. Reporting to the Marine Claims Manager in the day-to-day operation and control of the claims function, to ensure that claims are processed and settled on a timely and equitable manner, whilst constantly striving to develop and improve service and quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Producing feedback to Underwriters and management with regards to the structure of their claim issues and related risk information with the goal to improve the overall standard of underwriting in the company.
- Demonstrate that Lloyds minimum standards are being met at all times and be in a position to assist Underwriters and Claims Adjusters to progress.
- Ensures all claims allocated are controlled within company philosophies and SLA’s
- To be present at market meetings and conference calls when necessary
- Ensures customers are treated fairly at all times
- Ensures all complaint related issues and all such incidents are logged and concluded in accordance with company policy.
- Practices and promotes at all times Tokio Marine HCC core values, to both internal and external contacts alike.
- Undertake any other ad hoc activities/project work required.
**Performance Objectives**:
- Take ownership of a portfolio of key risks through which we can strengthen TMHCC’s relationships with brokers/clients, cover holders/TPAs, and Underwriters.
- Establish regular catch-ups with Underwriters to ensure they are informed of claims developments, trends, wordings issues, etc., and be available to attend broker / client meetings to promote TMHCC’s value proposition,
- Embed as a member of the marine claims team being flexible to support each other across the marine classes as volumes require.
**Skills and Experience Specification**:
**Essential**:
- Ideally 3+ years claims adjusting experience in Marine insurance
- An excellent knowledge of ECF, for both Lloyds and LIRMA markets.
- Very good technical Marine coverage knowledge.
- A very good working knowledge and experience in management of service providers such as loss adjusters and associated experts.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills are required as the duties of this role involves liaising with outsourcing partners, negotiation and liaising with brokers, loss adjusters and lawyers.
- Exceptional time and organizational management skills are essential in order to adapt quickly into the role.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.
- IT literate to include Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- ACII qualification (or working towards)
