Job Purpose

The Billings and Revenue Officer is responsible for accurate and timely billing of train movements on the Country Regional Network. The role is responsible for calculating and submitting various revenue reports, aged debtors, train delays and cancellations, monthly usage reports and other comprehensive reports.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the accurate and timely billing of Rolling Stock Operators for rail movements on the CRN.
  2. Maintain close relationships with internal stakeholders, in particular the Network Access Planners, Network Controllers and the finance team.
  3. Ensure accurate monthly billing and revenue reports are issued in accordance with Access Agreement requirements.
  4. Ensure accurate and timely monthly reports for Aged Debtors, Train Delays and Cancellations, Usage Reports.
  5. Work closely with RSOs, Network Access Lead and Finance around the accurate setup of new customer accounts.
  6. Maintain close relationships with key external stakeholders, in particular rolling stock operators, to ensure compliance with the Access Agreements. Escalate noncompliance to management.
  7. Submit FM Claims/credits to management and TfNSW for approval where required.
  8. Management of the Mayfield general office building, including the ordering of stationary, visitor inductions, organising building maintenance along with additional reasonable ad-hoc requests relating to Office Management (excludes safety critical train control equipment room systems maintenance).
  9. Ensure the accurate filing of Network Control documents, e.g. Electronic Train Control Graphs.
  10. Management of the Network Operations documentation via SharePoint. Identify areas for improvement where required.
  11. Where required, compile reporting data as requested by management.
  12. Where appropriate and when required, actively participate in UGLRL planning based projects and improvements.
  13. Assist the Train Control Manager in Voice Recording Transcripts where required.
  14. Actively participate in meetings, seminars and courses to assist in the achievement of UGLRL’s overall strategy and to assist with personal skills development.
  15. Actively promote professional, productive and cooperative relations with operational staff and along with all other divisions of UGLRL.
  16. Perform any other reasonable duties associated with the network operations planning task as directed from time to time.

Qualifications

  1. Year 12 higher School Certificate.
  2. Qualifications in Business Administration or equivalent desirable.
  3. Experience in management of train revenue and billings.
  4. Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
  5. Highly developed communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of Access Agreements and other agreements used within the rail industry for the purposes of access revenue.
