Job Description
Make your application after reading the following skill and qualification requirements for this position.
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse joining the multidisciplinary team and work towards providing holistic, person centered, end of life care, including assessing and understanding the care and support needs of patients and those important to them.
As a Registered Nurse, you will research and network across the system to understand the wide range of services available to patients and those important to them and work with other providers, supporting the wider system to improve the experience of dying, death, and bereavement.
Job Structure: Part Time; As and When
Job Schedule: Night Shifts
What we’re looking for:
- Registered Nurse on NMC Register
- Experience in NHS or other relevant care setting, ideally in palliative care.

- Proven understanding the barriers and enablers to good communication and how challenges can be overcome.
- Willing to line manage healthcare assistants.
- Ability to assess Healthcare Assistant clinical skills.
- Ability to undertake staff observational/support visits in the Community.
- The ability to co-ordinate care/prioritise patient needs.
- Willing to develop the team alongside Senior Nurses

- Competitive Policy for parental/sick Leave
- Continuous Professional development
