Job summary

International Defence Training (IDT) is a small team based at AIR Command. The team facilitate training agreements with Foreign Military and UK Defence Contractors and have access to a full catalogue of Flying Training and Technical Training. IDT 1 facilitates the training of foreign military students from a vast array of countries; desks are split into Middle East North Africa and Rest of the World. IDT 2 enables training for UK Defence contractors who support our operations. IDT 3 manages the business and finance and the IDT 3A1 role, being recruited, provides the team with business and finance administrative support.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Based on Hybrid working between home and office.�

Job description

The role inputs all offered IDT business into the financial forecast in accordance with local procedures, ensuring each entry is 100% accurate and reflects the true status of the training booking. They liaise with the IDT Desk Officers to obtain payment plans, etc. The individual will carry out additional entries to the financial Forecasts when required. Carry out the billing tasks for all IDT (RAF) Business. Raise all debtor Invoices and credits via Web Iris in accordance with the IDT Invoicing & Crediting Guide. Update the Forecast, Invoice Log when an invoice has been completed. Liaise with the DBS Revenue Teams when appropriate to ensure invoicing success. Inform line management when DBS Revenue team notify IDT of issues with payment. The individual will also support IDT3A with Civil Service business compliance.

Person specification

Candidates should have some awareness of civil service HR and wider finance activities, in addition to being a proactive team member with a good understanding of IT skills (Office 365, Excel spreadsheets and Web Iris), the ability to engage with end users and team members, as well as being able to interrogate and provide analysis from the information presented, when required.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.� This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
