We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Commissioning Officer to lead our commissioning activities. You will join our passionate Commissioning Team in a forward-thinking, dynamic, and fast paced environment where we plan, design and commission adult social care services across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

As a Principal Commissioning Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our services meet the needs of our community and deliver value for money. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of service delivery and make a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the commissioning process from end-to-end, including needs assessment, market analysis, service design, implementation and evaluation. Develop and implement commissioning strategies that align with organisational goals and community needs. Create strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, service providers, and the community to co-produce innovative solutions. Produce specifications and contract documents for key commissioned services. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Monitor and evaluate service performance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring outcomes are achieved. Provide expert advice and guidance on commissioning best practices and market developments. Manage budgets effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and value for money. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commissioning officers, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.

About You:

Proven experience in commissioning, or a related field. Strong understanding of commissioning principles, processes, and best practices. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations. Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to lead and inspire a team, creating a positive and productive work environment. Commitment to delivering high-quality services and achieving positive outcomes for the community.
