Commissioning Officer

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commissioning Officer to join our passionate Commissioning Team in a forward-thinking, dynamic, and fast paced environment where we plan, design and commission adult social care services across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

As a Commissioning Officer, you will support the commissioning of services that are aligned to the Council’s strategic priorities, national best practice and guidance and deliver value for money. You will support the development of services, and contribute to the needs analysis, commissioning, market testing, and review of all adult social care commissioned services. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of service delivery and make a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of commissioning strategies for adult social care. Use data analysis and intelligence to support effective planning of adult social care. Monitor and evaluate the impact of commissioned services. Build and maintain relationships with service providers and stakeholders. Facilitate co-production processes. Assist in drafting specifications and contract documents. Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records.

About You:

Experience in commissioning, or a related field, preferably within adult social care. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and intelligence. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships. An eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively and support a culture of accountability. An understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in the context of adult social care commissioning. Enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the community and improving service delivery.
