Job description
As Project Manager (PM), you will be working on a portfolio of medium-high risk science and engineering based health and safety related projects, generally using waterfall methodology. You will be part of a team of PM specialists and will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, for both commercial clients and HSE while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for all aspects of Project Management throughout the project life � cycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
Ensure through customer engagement that the project plans accurately define the project aim, objectives, and overall scope of work.Motivate and lead the delivery team to identify requirements, plan the work and manage delivery to quality, time, and cost.Proactive budget and cost management.Schedule management.Understand the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders and ensure effective communications throughout the project life cycle.Ensure effective project risk management is in place to ensure effective delivery and protect the business against financial risk.Recording key project information in line with business needs so that senior managers can make informed decisions.Person specification
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
Experience of managing and delivering projects at pace through the full project lifecycle, including planning, risk management, and cost/budget management, and application of project management tools and techniques.�Experience of balancing competing demands � demonstrating good�organisational and planning skills, ensuring work is progressed to the required quality standards, and timelines, wherever possible.Evidence of communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with team members, colleagues, senior managers, and external stakeholders.Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively, often as part of multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues naturally bringing people together to achieve the desired outcomes and balancing the needs of all.A high degree of personal resilience, with the ability to excel under ambiguous and ever changing situations.Essential Criteria
Have project management experience, demonstrating strong knowledge and application, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.Have effective communicating and influencing skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.Experience in risk management, including identifying and mitigating potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and cost estimation.Experience in project scheduling, resource allocation, with excellent negotiation skills.Willing to work towards additional APM qualification.At HSE we are proud to be able to offer our people the opportunity to work in a hybrid way which combines working from home and the is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your allocated office will be your contractual place of work.
